Are you Currently Lubing Your Rope?
Penetrating lubricant and protector ideal for:
Bridges, Cranes, Draglines, Mining Cables.

- Penetrates to the core, providing inner
strand preservation and lubricity.
- Lubricates and protects every strand
from corrosion.
- Adheres to surface forming an outer
film to protect against corrosive conditions.
- Won't attack rubber, neoprene sheave
liners or bull rings.
- Extends rope life, reduces friction.
- Reduces down time.
- Allows for visual inspection of wire
rope.
- Available in Spray Can, 5
Gallon Pails and 55 Gallon Drums.
Proper lubrication and protection of your
wire rope is instrumental in increasing its efficiency, longevity
and safety.
Common Methods
of Application
There are several methods of lubricant
application but the most common are:
a) Painting and Swabbing
b) At a Sheave - where a continuous
drip method is used. If only a small amount of lubricant
is needed, pressure spray nozzles can be used.
c) Continuous Bath
d) High Pressure Lubricator -
provides maximum penetration of the lubricant into the
gaps of the rope. With this method the two halves of
a sleave (which is equiped with rubber sealings) are
clamped around the rope and screwed together. While
the rope runs through the lubricator the lubricant is
pressed into the sleave at a pressure up to around 30
bars.
It is important with all methods of relubrication
of steel wire ropes that they are carried out regularily right
from the beginning of the service life of the rope, and not
just after the first damage has been ascertained. |
